Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding has made significant changes to its senior management structure to reflect its remarkable growth. The company’s founder, Dave Cockwell, will now assume the roles of Executive Chairman and Sales & Technical Director. Meanwhile, Dean Short, renowned for his experience as the Director of Operations at Princess Yachts, a leading British luxury yacht manufacturer, has been appointed as the Managing Director.
Dean Short, who was the Director of Operations at Princess Yachts for over six years, is well-suited to handle the operational responsibilities at Cockwells. This shift allows Dave Cockwell to concentrate on creating new products, boosting sales, and driving technological advancements.
Cockwells has a complete order book that extends far into 2025. Sales are rapidly growing across the company’s entire range of products, including Duchy Motor Launches, Hardy Motor Yachts, and meticulously customised superyacht tenders. This comes after one of the busiest periods in Cockwells’ history.
Dave Cockwell expressed his pleasure in welcoming Dean Short, acknowledging his extensive experience and expertise in boatbuilding and manufacturing over the last 20 years. The company has extensive growth plans for the coming years and currently operates on three sites with a workforce of over 150 staff members to meet the increasing demand for their bespoke superyacht tenders, Duchy Motor Launches, and Hardy Motor Yachts.
