Cockwells Launches the Highly Anticipated Hardy 50DS

Hardy 50DS: A new era

This remarkable Category A sea-worthy explorer yacht, designed by Andrew Wolstenholme for spirited all-weather voyages, draws inspiration from the iconic Hardy 50. It is a scaled-down version of the Hardy 65DS, yet it introduces a host of exciting new features that redefine the cruising experience.

What sets the new Hardy 50DS apart is its unique blend of power and comfort. While it’s more than capable of cruising at speeds surpassing 25 knots, it’s just as at home gliding serenely at 8 knots, all while boasting an impressive range of over 1500 miles. This exceptional design effortlessly combines the rugged practicality and robust performance of a go-anywhere cruiser with contemporary aesthetics, modern fittings, and interior styling. Moreover, it seamlessly integrates cutting-edge technology, ensuring a home away from home, wherever you roam.

The yacht offers not only a sumptuous double-berth en-suite owner’s stateroom but also two double-berth guest cabins with shared facilities, an expansive deck saloon, and a generously proportioned protected cockpit area—perfect for unwinding and dining in style. What’s more, this particular Hardy 50DS includes the option of an exceptionally spacious flybridge, complete with an open helm and an aft deck. This addition transforms the yacht into a delightful venue for al fresco dining under the stars, leisurely outdoor relaxation in the warm sun, or a picturesque vantage point for taking in breathtaking views.

A full-beam bathing platform adds practicality to the yacht, facilitating effortless access to the blue waters. This space also doubles as storage for a 3.8m RIB. Meanwhile, a commodious lazarette tucked beneath the cockpit sole provides ample room for the Seakeeper 6 gyro stabiliser and an array of water toys, bicycles, and deck equipment.

Dave Cockwell, Founder & Managing Director, offers insights into the vessel’s appeal, noting that the all-new Hardy 50DS “provides an exceptionally luxurious and safe environment for ocean crossings and long-distance cruising.” Furthermore, he underscores the yacht’s versatility, making it suitable for all family members, whether entertaining young children or providing a peaceful retreat for older family members.

Cockwells holds in high regard the cherished traditions of the beloved Hardy originals. However, they take pride in evolving this esteemed brand to bring joy to new generations. The Hardy 50DS presents elegant and versatile open-plan living designed to accommodate family members of all ages. Similar to their well-received Duchy Motor Launches, they offer the flexibility to tailor your Hardy yacht according to your specific needs, lifestyle, and preferences.
