Cockwells Delivers its Inaugural All-New Hardy 50DS

“sea-going explorer yacht”

Based on the original Hardy 50, this impressive Category A sea-going yacht, designed by Andrew Wolstenholme for adventurous cruising in all weather conditions, is smaller than the traditional Hardy 65DS but includes many new features.

Unlike most motor yachts in its category, the new Hardy 50DS can reach speeds over 25 knots. However, it is also comfortable cruising at 8 knots and can travel more than 1500 miles. It combines the practicality and performance of a sturdy cruiser with modern finishes and technology, offering the comforts of a home away from home.

In addition to a spacious owner’s stateroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom, there are two guest cabins with double beds and a shared bathroom. The yacht features a large deck saloon and a protected area in the cockpit for relaxing and dining in luxury. This particular Hardy 50DS also offers the option of a generously sized flybridge, complete with an open helm and aft deck, allowing for outdoor dining, sunbathing, or enjoying the view.

A full-beam bathing platform at the back of the yacht makes it easy to access the water and provides storage space for a 3.8m RIB. There is also a spacious lazarette beneath the cockpit floor, offering ample room for the Seakeeper 6 gyro stabiliser, water toys, bicycles, and other deck equipment.

Dave Cockwell, the Founder & Managing Director, describes the new Hardy 50DS as a luxurious and safe yacht for long-distance cruising. The spacious layout of the yacht, including the optional flybridge, provides versatility for all family members, whether entertaining children or providing a peaceful setting for older relatives.

Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding respects the traditions of the beloved original Hardy yachts and takes pride in developing the brand for new generations to enjoy. The Hardy 50DS offers stylish and open-plan living that can be customised to meet individual requirements, lifestyles, and tastes, similar to their popular Duchy Motor Launches.

In addition to this new model, Cockwells has also delivered two of the fastest tenders for a new Lürssen Megayacht, as well as four tenders for Spain’s largest megayacht. These are just a few examples of the many other impressive sales and accomplishments by Cockwells. You can find more details on their record sales in this other article.
