PRICE:   SOLD

If you’re looking for a 50 something foot flybridge cruiser for under $1M, this Sunseeker Manhattan 52 is the best option for those who appreciate European styling and refinements, and who are looking for something to make their own.

Let us guide you through the Manhattan 52s layout and features:

Climbing down to the engine room through the hatch in the cockpit deck, the engines are laid out easily to allow you to make checks, particularly of all the fluid levels and also for servicing from the central alley. Having in-line sixes is preferable to V arrangement engines, so to give increased lateral space for access.

The engines are upgraded from its predecessor on the Manhattan 50. Twin Volvo Penta D12 800 engines; six-cylinder diesel, turbocharged and inter-cooled, putting out 1600hp between them and give her a top speed of 30 knots.

In terms of range, at top speed, she can reach around 215nm with her 2140L fuel capacity. At the suggested 23kts cruising speed, this range increases to around 250nm. With the combination of power from the Volvo D12s and highly effective bow and stern thrusters, together they give excellent vessel control. Couple this with the Yacht Controller and there are no blind spots, making docking, as it should be – easy.

The cockpit has access on both sides, leading down to the hydraulic swim platform. Stainless chocks allow ease of use for launching and retrieving your tender plus the platform is fantastic to use for swimming and diving.

The transom locker is perfect for fenders and lines, while there is even more storage space in the crew cabin below the aft bench seat on the cockpit side.

The flybridge is vast and very well organised. A full-sized sun-bed sits alongside the helm position, allowing for ease of conversation.

The helm position has a comfortable and spacious bench seat and allows for great visibility while under way. Behind the helm is the U-shaped lounge with foldout table, providing space for a whole group of people to sit socially. To port is the teak finished stairway and the wet bar with an ice box.

In the saloon there is a vast lounge area, with a table that folds out for dining or can remain half the size for just drinks and snacks. Opposite the lounge is a range of lockers containing, drink bottles and glass holders. A flat screen high-low TV rises out of the same gloss timber unit.

The interior yacht can accommodate six guests in three staterooms, with two, en suite. The internal living space is at the top of the class.

The Manhattan 52 has narrow side-decks, to maximise the 4.63m beam for the internal living area. The wide spaced saloon is on two levels, the forward part being raised, mainly to increase headroom in the full beam master-suite below it, but the extra height allows ease of view from the lower control station without the driving seat being raised above the other furniture.

The galley is spacious and well equipped for everyday use. There are numerous lockers and drawers for food and crockery storage. The bench-top is solid stone, the convection-microwave and electric hob take care of any cooking needs, while the full height fridge-freezer provides cold storage utility, making it seem just like home.

The master suite is located where it should be: at midships for full beam space and least amount of motion and water lapping noise. The king-size bed is very comfortable and as the mattress base lifts on gas struts to provide huge storage, it is practical too. The en suite bathrooms have luxurious fittings and beautiful stone countertops.

The island bed dominates the VIP cabin, but has plenty of space around it. Hanging lockers and other stowage areas are littered around the cabin allowing all clothes and personal affects to each have their own place. The third cabin has very practical double-decker singles which are wider and longer than most you’ll find.

The helm console features analogue gauges for the critical engine readouts. These are mounted at the top of the console, requiring minimum eye movement for frequent checks. There are also electronic gauges to monitor additional data such as fuel consumption and engine load.

Although she’s now 12 years old, it’s hard to notice when you consider the sheer length of the kit list on this boat and the luxurious feel of the high quality fittings. It is a 57ft flybridge cruiser, with shaft diesels, low engine hours, yacht controller and 3 cabins all for under $800,000. This top brand, British built motor-yacht, still ticks all the boxes and with the newest model costing around triple the price, its value is extremely hard to beat.
